The bristles.
We chose the finest rounded nylon pins we could find: small and smooth enough to glide through the hair with no snagging, while still giving that soft, gentle feel against the scalp. Bigger rounded beads are where hair tends to get caught, so we went the other way. The boar bristles work alongside them to smooth the surface of the hair, distribute your natural oils through the lengths and create that polished, glossy finish.

The handle.
We chose acetate because it is sleek, durable and comfortable to use every day, while still feeling refined in the hand. It gives The Starlet brush its rich, dimensional colour and glossy finish, and the sparkles catch the light beautifully.

The case.
Every Starlet brush comes with one. It keeps the brush protected and the bristles in shape, instead of squashed at the bottom of a bag.

how to use

start at the ends and work up in sections, so knots loosen instead of pulling.

once you are through, brush from the roots down in long, slow strokes to carry your natural oils into the lengths.

works on dry hair, on damp hair, and through a blow-dry.

care
lift the hair out of the bristles regularly and keep the brush in its case between uses. do not soak the handle or machine-wash it.

what are the bristles made of?

A mix of boar bristles and rounded nylon pins.
The pins are rounded so they feel soft against the scalp, and kept small so hair does not catch around them. The boar bristles work alongside them, smoothing the surface of the hair and carrying your natural oils down the lengths.
will it snag or pull my hair?

It shouldn’t. Bigger rounded beads are usually where hair catches, so we went for the smallest, smoothest pins we could find instead.

Starting at the ends and working your way up helps too. Knots loosen as you go, rather than being pulled through.
is it suitable for my hair type?

The starlet brush is suitable for straight, wavy and curly hair.
can I use it on wet hair?

Yes, you can use the Starlet brush on wet hair. Remember to start at the bottom and brush gently, and to let knots loosen rather than pushing through them. Wet hair is more fragile than dry.
does it come with a case?

Every Starlet brush does. It keeps the brush protected so it lasts and stops the bristles from getting squashed when you are on the go.

what is the handle made of?

when will my pre-order arrive?

Expected delivery is End of Nov / Mid December. Pre-orders are sent out as soon as the first Starlet brushes land, so your brush is with you in time for the holidays. We are starting with limited quantities.
how do I clean it?

Lift the loose hair out carefully. Use your fingers, or run a comb through the bristles along and across the brush.

If it needs more than that, mix a little mild soap or shampoo into lukewarm (never hot) water and wash the bristles carefully. Keep the cushion and the handle out of the water as much as possible.

Do not submerge the brush for longer periods of time or put it in the washing machine.
